Details: The Community Services Department provides customer-focused services and information to all Volusia County residents and visitors to assist in sustaining an outstanding quality of life. In addition, the Community Services Department is the county liaison with the Volusia County Health Department. The purpose of the Community Assistance Division is to improve the quality of life for Volusia County residents. Staff coordinates and develops the various community services of federal, state and local agencies along with county residents for more efficient utilization and delivery of community resources. Human Services provides temporary emergency assistance and supportive services to eligible residents of Volusia County. The Family Self-Sufficiency Program will provide eligible individuals with educational and training opportunities to empower them to become economically self-sufficient. Applicants must be interviewed by a case worker to determine eligibility for services. Eligibility for assistance through Human Services is based on grant and county requirements that include proof of residency and total household income. Address: 775 Harley Strickland Blvd.
