Details: Since 1979, the Town of Yorktown has operated a Section 8 Rental Assistance Program to assist the elderly, disabled and low-income families of Yorktown. The Town applies for annual funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist eligible families with rent. Families are chosen from a waiting list and are interviewed to determine eligibility. The amount of rental subsidy is based on the family's income, assets and composition.
