Details: In 1930 the Catholic Welfare Bureau was formed as a non-profit organization to serve people in need in Sacramento and surrounding counties. The agency was incorporated in 1979 as Catholic Community Services. In 1993 the name was officially changed to Catholic Charities of Sacramento, Inc. Since 1930, the agency’s programs have changed in response to changing needs, but the mission to serve the most vulnerable of the community, regardless of ethnicity, religion, age, gender, or circumstances, has always remained constant. Currently, Catholic Charities of Sacramento, Inc. is made up of member agencies and programs which provide services to the poor throughout the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento.
