Comment from INCA Community Services, Inc.: Assistance in the face of the current CORONA global pandemic. I have tried & tried to get the attention of anyone at several assistance programs & my requests are going unanswered & falling on deaf ears. I pray you will help. The pandemic has forced our family to experience poverty, hardship, & unforeseen & unavoidable crisis. We are severely cost burdened, making us more likely to sacrifice other necessities like healthy food & healthcare to pay the rent. That leave us exposed to experience unstable housing situations like eviction & homelessness. We are in need of Emergency Services to alleviate our emergency & stabilize our household., which is facing eviction, hunger, utility & transportation & homelessness crisis. We need assistance as we are unable to pay rent & utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic & are in need of transportation in order to obtain a jobs. . I desperately need assistance & support through eviction prevention, financial assistance & connection with wraparound services including Legal Aid, utilities & re employment. If we are evicted, we will need relocation assistance. We are experiencing hardship in paying our electric, water & innernet accounts. They are all set for disconnection at this time. The pandemic has reached new levels of despair for our family. Each day, brings another crisis. We now have transportation hardship. Our family car was hit & totaled by an uninsured, unlicensed & undocumented alien. Durant & Bryan County have no public transportation, HUD Administration, or INCA offices. We require transportation to obtain a job. We have another vehicle, but have no funds to tag & register it. I called & the local tag agency said there is no community assistance for people of poverty or facing hardship. We are at a tipping point facing imminent homelessness, hunger, unemployment, utility disconnection & constant uncertainty. It is having it's toll on me mentally & physically. We have NO INCOME as of this week, Jan 11,2020. 100% INCOME! I am a woman, age 56, with a Masters Degree that is unemployed & desperately & aggressively seeking re employment & save my family keeping them safe. I have now exhausted my unemployment insurance benefits. My husband did not qualify for them. Our SNAP benefit of $230 a month, was slashed on 1/11/21 to $50 a month! My SNAP account advisor, said, she can do nothing about that. It is up to someone else. No emergency can be filed my account. I am getting no where fast with response to my pleas for help. Nobody calls back, nobody offers the help we so badly need. Can you please assist us? If you cannon, could you please, please forward this to the person that you feel is most qualified & that will actually take ACTION on our behalf? It is vitally important that you see us as humans with faces, that are under normal circumstances hard working contributing members of society. We are proud people. This is a time for you too, to take action, that you will be proud of & help your fellow Americans, in this case, my family. It will make a meaningful difference in our existence & the possibility that one day we may be able to rebound from this blow, and go back to live as normal. If we experience homelessness, I fear that rebound will be impossible. Soon I will require assistance from VITA, with my income tax. I hope it is not as difficult to obtain as the services I mentioned above. It has mentally & physically drained me reaching out for help, only to be turned away because we live in Bryan County. We are living on our love for each other & faith in God. Today, I implore you to give us faith in you as a child of God, and a public servant. Together we can do anything. Sometimes it seriously does take a village. In this case, I just need one person to recognize us, respond and take action on our behalf as soon as possible. Please find all of my contact information below. I am sitting by eagerly anticipating your reply, telling me the carvery is on it's way. I will keep you & your family in our thoughts & prayers.
