We began as Progress for People and evolved into the Southeast Tennessee in 1985. Comment from SETHRA - Polk County (Benton): Where is this money going? I am very upset with this program!! My parents live on a very meager 1176.00 a month. I went with my Dad to apply for assistance from this program. He more than qualified. We were told he and my mother qualified for $500.00 in assistance. We waited about a week or two for the letter and when it arrived it stated that unfortunately due the lack of funds no assistance was available. What is wrong with this? Where is the money going? Who is actually receiving help from this program? Can someone please shed some light on this ?
